Tried and tested
A natural buffalo horn, this is a very hard, very long lasting chew, and it's naturally hollow, which is where it gets really useful. For strong adult chewers it's a brilliant long lasting project that stands up to serious gnawing. For younger dogs from 6 months, Ryan, one of our IMDT qualified trainers, recommends stuffing the hollow centre with something tasty and using it as a supervised licking and gentle gnawing enrichment item, rather than something to crack. It suits dogs from 6 months, you just use it differently depending on the dog.
About this chew
Description
Buffalo horn is a natural, single ingredient chew made from the tough outer horn, so it's extremely durable and one of the longest lasting natural options. It's low in fat and low odour. The naturally hollow centre is the clever bit, stuff it with paste, a little wet food or a smaller treat and it becomes a long lasting enrichment tool, great for slowing dogs down and keeping them occupied. For adult power chewers it's a hard, slow wearing chew. For gentler dogs, and for puppies from 6 months, it's best used stuffed, as a supervised lick and gnaw.
